Personal branding: Sara Doubleday
Branding yourself can be tricky. You have to distill down or focus in on a couple aspects of yourself and how you want others to see you, on top of developing a solid design. Since the beginning of high school, I’ve used a fox as my logo for my freelance work. It’s taken many shapes and evolved over the years, but it sticks with me because foxes are playful and goofy, yet intelligent.
I worked through many iterations of foxes, and inspired by photos and videos of foxes jumping into holes and snow, eventually landed on a fox tail sticking out of a hole. I chose a 3-color palette for my personal brand, alternating the color in the tip of the fox’s tail and carrying that design into my business cards and website. The line quality of the fox also mimics my illustration style. I chose an uneven sans-serif for my type to match the uneven thickness of the logo mark.
