This re-imaging of Mike Shinoda’s album, Post-Traumatic was inspired by space and time. Shinoda’s 16-track record was written in chronological order following the death of Linkin Park’s lead singer, Chester Bennington. I wanted to create a visual design that matched the conceptual theme of the album. I also created a lyric book that fits into the album sleeve, maintaining an astronomical theme.
Utilizing a repeating circular shape to convey the passing of time and motion, I chose a clean typeface to contrast the movement on the cover. Then I paired illustration with photography for the inside face of the album .The lyric book contains only photographs of space to create visual balance throughout the piece.
