Since the fortune cookie originated in San Francisco, CA, rather than China, I decided to create a fortune cookie food truck with a San Francisco vibe. Titled The 415 after San Francisco’s area code, The 415 is branded with a bright and simple color palette inspired by neon lights in San Francisco along with flat, bold graphics. I paired the colors and imagery with a simple, bold sans serif typeface to further promote a sleek, simple brand.
Offering ten different flavors of fortune cookies, The 415 both serves delicious snacks as well as educates the public about the history of the fortune cookie in an engaging manner. The 415 is targeted towards young adults who have extra cash to spend on a delicious mid-day or nighttime treat. I strived to create fun, inviting branding for this project, researching the history of the fortune cookie, how it is portrayed now, as well as the variety of flavors it is available in.
